Important information for ski in Italy
In the Italy there is mandatory civil liability insurance for all skiers and snowboarders using the slopes. This obligation applies from 1 January 2022, based on Decree No. 40/2021. The insurance must cover damages caused to third parties, such as injuries or damage to property. If you do not have valid insurance, you risk a fine of up to €150 and the loss of your ski pass.
The minimum requirements for the insurance:
- Insurance must include liability for damages caused to others (personal injuries and property damage)
- The amount of coverage is usually around 5 million EUR for personal and property damage

The price of insurance for a weekend ski trip in Poland ranges from 6 to 19 Euros per person for 3 days.For a week, prices range from 8 to 32 Euros per person.
Insurance for school ski trip
For children in ski training, group insurance is ideal, covering the entire class. If you want to insure a child individually, prices in Slovakia start at 4 Euros per week and can go up to 10 Euros depending on the child's age and the choice of insurance company.
The insurance includes accident coverage, baggage, liability, Mountain Rescue intervention and other important services. Remember that lower prices may mean limited coverage, so seek expert advice when purchasing.
Ski insurance for ski trip in Europe
Skiing insurance abroad (European destinations) is valid only in territories outside Slovakia.It cannot be used after returning from abroad for skiing at home, as it does not provide coverage in such cases.
When calculating prices, we took a couple of adults for a week as an example - prices range from 28 to 57 Euros per person.
